THEMIS

Inspired by the story of Homo floresiensis, Themis bears the name of the Greek goddess of law and order. She embarks on an initiatory journey that gradually leads her to merge with the animal world.

According to the legends of Flores Island, this ancient human species possessed extraordinary strength and supernatural abilities. Laurence Le Constant draws upon this story to imagine another form of power: one born from an alliance with the living world. Rather than seeking to dominate animals, Themis strives to acquire their qualities, their perception of the world and their heightened sensory abilities.

Covered in feathers, her body bears witness to this ongoing transformation. Each material becomes the trace of a growing kinship with the living world, as though the boundaries between species were gradually dissolving to reveal an expanded consciousness.

A central figure in Laurence Le Constant's universe, Themis reminds us that true evolution lies in our ability to transform the way we perceive the world.
