MARTIN

Les Oiseaux du Paradis, 2025

Martin is one of the seven unique wearable artworks that compose Les Oiseaux du Paradis, the inaugural collection of Maison Laurence Le Constant.

Conceived and designed by Laurence Le Constant, the sneaker was developed from her original drawings before being transformed through hand embroidery, featherwork and the integration of raw lapis lazuli stones. The composition is built around a dialogue between opposing yet complementary forces. Deep cobalt blue contrasts with fiery orange tones, while the featherwork bursts outward like a flame merging with water. This chromatic tension creates a sense of movement, transformation and alchemical balance.

Traditionally associated with wisdom, intuition and spiritual awareness, lapis lazuli has long been regarded as a stone of inner vision. Its celestial blue evokes infinity and the expansion of consciousness, while its connection to the Third Eye Chakra symbolizes clarity, insight and imagination.

Combined with featherwork, lapis lazuli becomes the symbolic heart of a creation exploring transformation, perception and the union of opposites.

Situated between sculpture, adornment and poetic narrative, Martin reflects Laurence Le Constant's exploration of symbolic materials and their ability to transform a familiar object into an extraordinary presence.

Lapis lazuli & Symbolism

Lapis lazuli is traditionally associated with wisdom, intuition and spiritual awareness.

Its deep celestial blue evokes infinity and has long symbolized nobility, knowledge and inner vision.

Connected to the Third Eye Chakra, it is regarded as a stone that encourages clarity, imagination and conscious perception.

Within Martin, lapis lazuli becomes a symbol of transformation and awakening, supporting a dialogue between fire and water, movement and balance, matter and imagination.
