Her Garden unfolds as an intimate territory where hybrid figures and totemic presences compose a sensitive cartography inspired by the artist’s family home and garden. These presences form the fragments of a personal narrative in which memory gradually transforms into myth.
Within this body of work emerge the first figures of My Lovely Bones. Covered in feathers, these skulls are not vanitas but portraits. Each bears the name of a real or symbolic woman who has shaped Laurence Le Constant’s life, imagination, or personal history.
Between intimate memory and collective imagination, Her Garden evokes a territory of transformation where beings, presences and memories rewrite their own mythologies.
PRISCA
Created for the exhibition Her Garden, Prisca marks an important step in Laurence Le Constant’s exploration of memory and metamorphosis.
Discovered in a flea market, this Napoleon III rocking horse was found in a state of advanced decay. Once a cherished childhood companion, carrying the traces of countless memories, it seemed to have lost the presence and purpose that had once defined its existence.
Moved by the emotional resonance that still emanated from the abandoned form, the artist set out to offer it a new life. Wood, leather, horsehair and straw became the foundation of a rebirth. Worked with fluidity and movement, feathers envelop the sculpture with renewed vitality, transforming the relic of a bygone past into a luminous presence.
Like the figures that inhabit My Lovely Bones, Prisca is not about disappearance but persistence. It speaks to the capacity of beings, memories and forms to reinvent themselves beyond time.

WET THOUGHTS I, II, III
Created in 2013, Wet Thoughts is a triptych depicting intimate landscapes that reveal the unspoken and hidden dimensions of the self. Feathers unfold in fluid, organic movements, while rock crystal, rose quartz, kyanite and pink coral emerge as precious formations born from time and the densification of thought.
Evoking memory, desire, vulnerability and secrecy in turn, Wet Thoughts gives form to an inner territory where emotions slowly settle before crystallizing into mineral architectures that cannot be concealed.

NORNES
Inspired by the Norns of Norse mythology, this suspended sculpture evokes the feminine forces that govern the fate of humans and worlds alike. Guardians of time, they weave the threads of past, present and future at the foot of Yggdrasil, the cosmic tree.
Composed of duck, pheasant and goose feathers assembled onto antique Burmese temple teak gears, Nornes unfolds as an aerial presence in which matter appears animated by a continuous movement. Feathers stretch, ripple and flow through space like a vital force in perpetual transformation.
At the threshold between totem and mythological figure, Nornes embodies an ancestral feminine energy that is at once protective, untamed and creative.
